We recently took a trip to Virginia to see, as Emma puts it, "my Virginia friends".
We stayed with Matt and Michelle and Emma and Alex picked up right where they left off, starting with an immediate hug.
One of the things I really wanted to do was go see the cherry blossoms again, and we timed our visit perfectly, managing to go into Washington DC on the day of the peak blooms.
We started the day with a boat cruise up and down the Potomac.
Then we walked past some of the monuments to the Tidal Basin.
We have some pictures of
Emma visiting the cherry blossoms from about the same age, so it was nice to get some of Jonathan too.
I tried to get some pictures of both kids together, but only one was feeling cooperative...
Later, during our trip, we spent some time at the playground
and visited with Emma's "other Virginia friend, James".
We also had a chance to visit Emma's "Virginia Cousins", who don't actually live in Virginia, but in Maryland. It seemed easier not to argue over the details on that one...
We had a great trip and can't wait to visit again, if they'll have us back, that is! Click
here to see more pictures from our trip, especially cute ones of Jonathan who was being very photogenic at the Tidal Basin.
