Swim Baby!

Today was a very exciting day for me!  I got to go to my first ever baby swim class!  I was so excited when I woke up this morning and I kept laughing and squealing because I was so happy.

Here I am in my newest bathing suit.  Mommy picked this one out because it was a two piece and she was worried about me needing to have an emergency diaper change in the middle of class.

We left our house early because we wanted to make sure we got there in plenty of time.  When we got to the locker room, I saw my friend Alex there with her mommy.

And guess what?  We were twins!  We had the same bathing suits!

I also saw this cute baby in the mirror wearing my bathing suit too!

After we changed into our bathing suits, Mommy and I went out to the pool area.

The first thing we did in class was blow on this block.  It's supposed to help us babies learn to blow bubbles in the water when we're swimming.  Today, Mommy did most of the blowing...

...I mostly liked tasting the block.

Alex liked how hers tasted too.

Then we started floating on our tummies.  I was kicking my legs really hard!

This was my teacher, helping me practice kicking my legs.

We also practiced floating and kicking on our backs.

Here's me and Alex swimming on our backs some more.

We kept going around and around in circles in the pool.

Here I am trying to use my arms and legs together at the same time to swim.

We also practiced "Humpty Dumpty", jumping into the pool from the edge.

When class was over, Alex and I stayed to practice swimming a little longer.

Mommy and I had a really fun time at swim class and can't wait to go again next week.

Bye-bye!

Mommy's note:  We want to say a special thank you to Alex's Mom Mom (her grandmother) for taking pictures of us at swim class today.  Without her help, we wouldn't have so many great pictures to share!

Beantown Baby

Daddy has been off traveling for work a lot lately and Mommy and I were getting a little bit bored staying at home.  Personally, I was starting to feel like these four walls were closing in on me, so I was super excited when Daddy suggested that Mommy and I could come with him on his next trip to Boston.  I said, "Yes!" right away and started packing my bags for my first airplane ride.

On Monday afternoon, Daddy drove us all to the airport. We left our car and went inside to find our airplane.  We had to get in a line where airport workers make people take off their shoes and belts.  It must have been because they wanted to make sure you know how to put them back on by yourself because after you walked through a special door everybody got to put them back on again.  I think the people who work at the airport were worried that I was going to be a terror on my first airplane ride because they did extra inspections to my suitcase.  But once they saw how cute I was and realized I had just packed a lot of extra baby food they decided everything was okay and told me to have a nice day.

Here's Daddy and me waiting for our airplane to get to the airport.

I was really excited to go on a trip!

It turns out that Daddy must be a really good traveler, because when we got to the airport he asked the lady who hands out the tickets if we could all sit up in first class and she said we could!

Here are our tickets.

I even got my very own boarding pass.  See where it says "first class"?

Here's Mommy and me getting our picture taken with our airplane.

And here I am in my first class seat.  (I was asking where Mommy was going to sit when she took this picture.)

I did a good job on my first airplane ride.  I sat quietly and looked out the window with Mommy.  Here I am pointing out the sights for Mommy as we flew.

When we got to our hotel, I found out that Daddy is also good at staying in hotels because we had a huge room.  It was a sweet suite, or at least that's what I heard Daddy say.  I don't know why he said it two times, but he did.  I think he said we got such a nice room because the last time he stayed at that hotel he complained.  Then Mommy told him that when we got home he should remember that complaining gets things done.  Then he made a funny face at her.

 Welcome to Emma's Penthouse Suite!

Okay, well, it's not exactly the top of the hotel, but pretty close!

Here's Daddy and me standing on our interior balcony.

And here's the view from said balcony.  Daddy kept telling me I shouldn't get used to traveling like this, but honestly, I could.  I really could...

See how high up we were in our room?

I liked riding in those elevators.  Zooming up and down in them was really fun and I could see lots of stuff because they were all glass.

One thing that our fancy room didn't have was a high chair for me to sit in to eat.  Since I was distracted and looking around at all the new stuff, Mommy sometimes had a hard time getting the food into my mouth.  I don't know why she couldn't tell when I was going to turn my head without telling her.  And store bought baby food is drippier than the stuff Mommy makes me at home, so I got a little messy.  She ended up calling me, "Emma Marie" a couple of times when I was eating.

One day while Daddy was working, Mommy and I went to look at houses for when we move back to Boston, but we didn't find anything that we liked.  I just had to spend a lot of time in the car that morning.  And later that afternoon, we went to Daddy's office so he could show me off.

The rest of time, Mommy and I walked around in Boston.  She took lots of pictures, some of them were of me, and some of them were of things she liked.  There were lots of flowers called tulips that she seemed to like.

There was so much to look at, I had a hard time paying attention to Mommy and the camera!

We walked around the Boston Common and the Public Gardens and saw the swan boats.

And I even saw some celebrities!  Mr. and Mrs. Mallard.  You know who they are, there's that book about Mrs. Mallard and her babies...

 Make way for Emma!

Here I am, napping at the Frog Pond.

Mommy and I also walked around the North End.  We saw this statue of Paul Revere.  I didn't realize he grew up in an Italian neighborhood.  I wonder if he liked pasta...

This is the Old North Church... one if by land, two if by sea...

We also saw a carousel when we were out walking.

Mommy made me take this picture for Stacey.

It was a very fun trip and I was glad to get to see where Daddy goes when he's away traveling.  I also did a very good job on my airplane ride home, even though I was back in steerage.  Maybe now that Mommy and Daddy know that I'll be good on airplane rides they'll take me more places.  Does anybody have room for a baby to come visit?
