Guess what everybody?! I'm two! That's right, I am now officially a big girl!
This is me on my actual birthday last Wednesday. I was all dressed and ready to go to school for the day. Mommy kept telling me it was a special day, but I mostly just liked that she and Daddy kept singing a song to me that had my name in it.
That night we had a special pizza dinner at home and I got to help make it.
The secret to a good pizza is to poke the dough with your fingers a lot to make holes for all the sauce to go into.
Then, while the pizza was cooking, I worked on coloring my birthday card from my friend Lonna.
Yesterday I packed my bag and went to Nana and Grandpa's house. Mommy and Daddy took me there so I could have a little party with my cousins.
On Sunday morning I helped Mommy bake some cupcakes and then it was finally time to decorate them. I helped check and make sure the frosting tasted okay.
I also did some quality control testing on the sprinkles too.
Then Mommy let me help put some sprinkles on the cupcakes.
I wanted to eat those cupcakes right then, but Mommy kept saying we had to wait until everyone got there. She said that I had to take a nap first but I was so excited that I didn't want to do that. When she put me down, I kept calling for Mommy and asking "Mommy, where are you?" I tried to let her know that I was ready, saying, "Emma eat cupcakes?" but Mommy was kind of slow on the uptake. For an hour and a half I tried to be very patient with Mommy and let her know that I was ready to have a cupcake, but it was so exhausting trying to make her understand that in the end, I had to rest my eyes for just a few minutes before my cousins started coming.
Finally everybody was there and we started to have some fun.
I opened a couple of presents and finally when I thought I couldn't last another minute, Mommy finally asked if I was ready for a cupcake.
I hurried right over to the table and sat down. Then before I could eat one everybody started to sing Happy Birthday to me.
I liked that!
Then it was time to blow the candles out. This is me blowing. I had a hard time making my lips go the right way so Mommy and Daddy helped me.
Finally, it was time!
I mean, really, could you have waited to dive into those beauties?
Mmmfff... mmmmm...mmmfff....
Did I mention that I
love cupcakes?
And then there was the ice cream!
That is also delicious!
After cupcakes and ice cream, I tried out one of my new toys. Grandpa Bill got me a bubble blower and since he seemed like he wanted to play with it, I took him outside to give it a go.
After I went back inside to play some more with my cousins and have some fun before it was time for everyone to go home. It was so much fun to see everyone and to share all those cupcakes. I think I might like to have another birthday again next week!
